We are an active group of collaborative gardeners managing allotments at the Melbourne Allotment Holders Association Ltd (MAHA) located at the Hilly Fields site in Melbourne.

Note: MAHA Ltd is a company and has its own website and formal infrastructure.

The u3a allotments are surrounded by well defined plots, all tended by an encouraging community of experienced growers and amateurs alike.

We work together preparing and maintaining our allotments, planting and tending crops. We all find this is an excellent activity giving benefits in physical and mental health, social activity and of course the benefit from the harvest.

We have grown a variety of vegetables and fruit, most grown from seed by our own members or bought in seed stocks. We decide as a group during the winter months what crops we would like to grow the following year. We also have on-site sheds, greenhouses and equipment needed to support our activities.
